DIGITALLY BOUND

The client contacted me to create a self-portrait illustration showing how she often felt trapped by the technological devices that we depend on. I sketched out 3 possible ideas and she decided on a close-up to concentrate on the internal turmoil of being "tied" to technology. We decided to keep the project in black and white, with the exception of her signature red lips, and I used charcoal and pastels to achieve the distressed, illustrative look.
